Why not native app?

This is soooo bad( Why not native app? Very bad expirience

6.2.1 broke what it claims to fix! please come out with 6.2.2

I love the app. It has ALWAYS worked. this update broke what it claims to fix.

Too granular to be efficient

Todoist has too many “lists” or projects as they call them for my style of work. It takes way to much effort to get a task into the system. For example, I cannot find a way to initiate a task with a keystroke (only from a mouse). I need fast and this isn’t it. Nozbe is more expensive but has fewer problems.

Keep it simple Todoist!

I tried sooooooooooo many todo apps but after a few days I always dropped them. Todoist is just different! The app stays very simple to use but can be very powerful when needed! I cant live without it now! By the way I love the new redesign! Keep it up!

Version 6.2.1 is currently unusuable, 6.2.2. fixes the issue

As other people mentioned, it’s just not working right now. Hopefully it will be updated soon. Back to the Web version. Update 2015-09-29: Thank you for the fast fix, it works now on El Capitan. As you can expect, native apps give you a little extra compared to the Web app. Todoist does that too - makes already great service even better.

Could be a lot better

I want to like this a lot more than I actually do. I’ve upgraded to premium, and I feel like the added features come with additonal weirdness. For everything that’s great about ToDoIst comes with something that’s not so great. Syncing - syncing between devices and applications par for the course on an app like this, however there should be a keystroke to sync quickly. Font Size – this should be customizable. I feel like I’m using an application deisgned for children or seniors. Indenting/reordering items - this is probably the most powerful features, but the implementation is clunky. As you reorder items, it’s too easy to indent them and nest them under items unintentionally. This is seriously frustrating. Inbox/Today/Next 7 Days - Items due in the near future appear in these filter views, which is convienent. What’s inconvienent is that subtask items lose all context. For instance if I have a task: "Holiday Shopping" with a subtask “place order,” my Today filter will only show “place order” without out any indication what I need to place an order for. This is very problematic as lists become longer and more intricate. Due Dates – another incredibly frustrating proccess is assigning due dates and reminders to items. There is UI to help select a day when something is due setting a time isn’t intuitive. To set a time, you need to type a short string such as “today at 12pm.” This might seem like a more approachable way to set a due date with time, but there is no documentation of acceptable phrases that can be passed into this field. Secondarily, I’ve used the examples provided on the ToDoIst site such as “10 min before” over and over again only to recevive a message saying that the phrase was invalid. This seems like a bug. I understand and apprieciate the intention behind how this feature is designed to work, but it really needs a GUI for setting the time for items and reminders.

Broken Plus Button

The plus button the in upper right doesn’t work. Text does not show in the box to add the task.

Hooray - at last we can zoom

I love todoist. The Mac desktop app though had been hard for me to use since I could not change the font size or increase the text by zooming. This version finally adds support for zoom and I am super happy about that. There are still a few features that are not available and things like not having a search from within the extensive and very helpful online Help Center that keep me from giving todoist five stars. One feature that I would like is more integrations. Those integrations that I would like include Apple Mail both desktop and iOS, Launch Center Pro for iPhone, Fantastical and Siri.

Yet another poor task manager

I really don’t understand the state of task list managers. I mean everybody talks about how a ‘task list’ is always the first project a developer will build. However, no one ever gets it right. I wanted a business task manager that would be quick and simple to use, but allow me to (easily) add notes, sub tasks, tags, and organize. I sort of get that every person is different in how they manage there lists and what automation they need, but Todoist just fails in so many ways. Horrible editor. Difficult and frustrating interface. Lot’s of unused whitespace in the interface, I mean really, what interface designer would let this product loose in the world? Not that Wunderlist is any better. After seeing some positive reviews on other sites, I took a leap of faith and paid for the premium ($30) Todoist thinking that it would enhance what the Free version gave you. Big mistake. It is truly a sad state of affairs when it comes to Task Lists.

Please Fix Printing

All of a sudden, it’s more important for ToDoist to force me to share on social media than actually print my task lists. When I try to print, it opens in the web, encourages me to share, but the “No Thanks” link doesn’t work, so it stops me from printing altogether. It’s been like this since the middle of last week. I do love the app and have been super-happy, but please let me print again. Thanks.

Lots of branding. Little substance. Not so beautiful.

I was shopping for productivity apps to reign in my workflow. The pitch was beautiful; the implementation was bewildering. You won’t find easy integration —especially in the free version. The value added is mysterious. The costs? A lot of inevitable complications The integration process looked like a spaghett recipe for complicating your life, signing up for third party go-between software and upgrading this or that premium service. Support was a smattering of random notes and embedded YouTube channels (from third party users?), some of which appeared outdated. The “red everything” color scheme is alarming and contrasts with the nice, crisp interface. Much like the program, it looks like an identify crisis. The punchline: the value of the premium product seems dwarfed by the other programs that deliver on integration and workflow. I’m sure there’s good stuff in here, but it’s buried in muck.

Lots Going For It, Will Be Keeping an Eye On It

Todoist has a lot of helpful features incuding collaboration, nesting subtasks, tags, reminders, notes/commenting, etc. However, the desktop “app” for Macs has the feel of a webpage and needs connectivity in order to fully function. As other comments have pointed out, there is a ton of whitespace in the design of the interface. Like others, I would rather have three times the tasks listed in one screen view than so much white border space around each task. If the desktop “app” gets beefed up a bit and a compact view becomes available, I would definitely be using this app. Looks great on the iPhone. Support was very quick to respond as well. I will be keeping an eye on Todoist.

Really Helpful Task Manager

I’ve been using Todoist for several months now and like its features - projects, grouping of tasks, notes, color coded priorities, recurring tasks, etc. I don’t mind the layout and the whitespace,…it’s clean and simple. Having the tasks synced across all of my devices is extremely helpful and allows me to stay on top of my to-do list. My only wish is that it were easier to search completed tasks.

Kind of a Catch 22

Just got a new retina iMac and installed Todoist, I had upgraded to Premium last May. Not sure what is going on. It says this install is the free version, won’t take any edits to my correct email. Can’t log into my premium account, and when I tried to send a support request, it kicks me out of the email because it won’t let me log in… Thats on their site online. I think it’s probably a VERY bad idea to buy the premium version from the app store. I don’t think I will be renewing—hopefully I can get in touch with them to not renew automatically. I may be forced to send a LETTER (if I can find an address!).

The first To-Do app that gets it right.

I’ve been searching for a reminders/to-do app for a long time now, and none of them have seemed to really hit the mark. Todoist is great about organizing your tasks for when you need to see them, rather than a) displaying everything at once, or b) not giving me an simply way to view what’s on the agenda today. Really helps me keep track of my assignments for class. While $30 for the premium subscription may seem a little steep, I can attest that it is worth it. However, the wonderful thing about this application is that you don’t need to pay to get a great app with great features. Definitely recommend trying this out!

Can’t get to support!

Just paid for premium upgrade and can’t get the upgrade to work. Just spent 15 minutes trying to reach support. The last release said this problem was fixed!! No documentation anywhere to help me out.

Awesome. New fav app.

Todo lists are simeple yet this app is amazing & makes it flawless. I bought premium version & worth every penny in my opinion.

The App Doesn’t Open

Just installed the update. I was so excited for a better Mac app. Click on the icon and it says Todoist is open in the top bar, but there’s no Todoist window open anywhere on my computer.

App not working with v6.3 upgrade

The app looks like it is running, but the main window is no where to found. The menu bar icon is also taking up about 4x more space than normal. There is just blank space on either side of the menu bar icon. When you click on the menu bar icon the blank space on either side of the icon become blue; so I know the blank space is being used by the Todoist menu bar icon. I have tried deleting the app, restarting and re-installing from the App Store; and still it is not working. If I select “Quick Add Task” from the Todoist “Window” drop down menu, the window to start typing the task appears, but the app then crashes if attempt to use it. I am running OSX v10.11.13 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

Fantastic

Remake is great. I wish they’d kept the old “Today” view, but it’s otherwise really, really good. Quick add from anywhere is a marked improvement from last version. Looks like I switched from Wunderlist at the right time :P
