Could be a lot better

I want to like this a lot more than I actually do. I’ve upgraded to premium, and I feel like the added features come with additonal weirdness. For everything that’s great about ToDoIst comes with something that’s not so great.

Syncing - syncing between devices and applications par for the course on an app like this, however there should be a keystroke to sync quickly.

Font Size – this should be customizable. I feel like I’m using an application deisgned for children or seniors.

Indenting/reordering items - this is probably the most powerful features, but the implementation is clunky. As you reorder items, it’s too easy to indent them and nest them under items unintentionally. This is seriously frustrating.

Inbox/Today/Next 7 Days - Items due in the near future appear in these filter views, which is convienent. What’s inconvienent is that subtask items lose all context. For instance if I have a task: "Holiday Shopping" with a subtask “place order,” my Today filter will only show “place order” without out any indication what I need to place an order for. This is very problematic as lists become longer and more intricate.

Due Dates – another incredibly frustrating proccess is assigning due dates and reminders to items. There is UI to help select a day when something is due setting a time isn’t intuitive. To set a time, you need to type a short string such as “today at 12pm.” This might seem like a more approachable way to set a due date with time, but there is no documentation of acceptable phrases that can be passed into this field. Secondarily, I’ve used the examples provided on the ToDoIst site such as “10 min before” over and over again only to recevive a message saying that the phrase was invalid. This seems like a bug. I understand and apprieciate the intention behind how this feature is designed to work, but it really needs a GUI for setting the time for items and reminders.
